Sorry...I don't see sadness in this. I see determination and courage.
Overcoming one's shortcomings or disabilities (whatever the circumstance) and the determination to not be treated like a disabled individual (dog, person, anyone or anything) is something to be admired and emulated.
He's practically begging to say "stand aside or get the hell out of the way! I got people to see, things to do and places to go!"
Lol, right! Like Mikey could say "Take my truck, since I knew you needed it to get to the hospital in an emergency", lol. Mikey had his truck stolen this week. :o(
Well...even though bad things happen to good people...I'd rather kick that poor sap that stole my truck right where it counts...repeatedly.
Regardless...I can't let something like that ruin the rest of my life. I can't do anything to change the situation, so I've said my piece on it and I move on.
That's how I can look at a three-legged dog objectively and see what I want to see from it. Sadness, yes, because he was subjected to an accident (or whatever) that caused his misfortune, but to also see it as rising above the crap that it was dealt and had no control over and to overcome it

That poor old dog is probably all that man has left. It's probably his best little buddy, and he'd be devistated if anything happened to the dog.
That makes me sad too.
